Francis Marvin (Frank) Singleton passed away on Friday March 27, 2015 at home in Midland, Texas at the age of 93.

He was born December 30, 1921 in Bartlett, Kansas to Harry Ambrose and Dolley Opal Singleton.

He grew up in Shidler, Oklahoma, attending school through high school. He enrolled in college at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma until 1941. He then enlisted in the US Navy and graduated as a Naval Aviator in Pensacola, Florida in 1942 before being transferred to the Pacific Theater during World War II as a LT JG aviator.

After his service to the United States Navy, he returned to Oklahoma and married Anna Joy Butler in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 5, 1947 and continued his education at Tulsa University graduating in 1947 as a Geologist. After graduation, he worked for Sinclair Oil and Gas in various locations in Texas and New Mexico. He retired from Atlantic Richfield in 1983 after 34 years of service as a Petroleum Engineer.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Harry Ambrose Singleton; mother, Dolley Opal Singleton; brother, George Wesley Singleton; and sister, Lyla Lorene Singleton Brumley.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Anna Joy Singleton; son, Glen and his wife, Margie Singleton, of Rowlett, Texas; daughter, Mary and her husband, Clint Hurst, of Midland, Texas; son, Keith and his wife, Cindy Singleton, of Midland, Texas. He is also survived by five (5) grandsons, fourteen (14) great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank’s pastime was filled with playing golf, traveling in the RV during his retirement, and fishing in Colorado for several summers. He tremendously enjoyed his time with his grandsons and great grandchildren. He was a devoted, long time member of the First Christian Church, serving in various capacities.

The funeral will be held at First Christian Church, 1301 W. Louisiana , Midland, Texas on April 1, 2015 at 11:00am officiated by Rev. Mike Hunter & Rev. Paula Brooks. A graveside service will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be March 31, 2015 at 6-8pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home at 3800 N. Big Spring, Midland, Texas.

The Singleton family expresses their appreciation to Kathreen Wiley, his caregiver these past 7 months and Home Hospice for their excellent, compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the First Christian Church of Midland, Texas “In His Steps” ministry at 1301 W. Louisiana Midland, Texas 79701 or Home Hospice at 200 W. Illinois Ave., Ste 190, Midland, Texas 79701.
