He was born on June 29, 1915 in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Robert & Ida (Krepline) Fischer. He married Mabel Wagner on June 29, 1940 at Reedsville. They farmed in the Town of Rockland until moving to Brillion in 1990. He was a hard worker. Hank drove snowplow for the Town of Rockland for 6 years and did mason and carpentry work in the area for many years. He enjoyed bowling and dancing with his wife Mabel. He loved to hunt, and fish on Lake Winnebago and Lake Michigan with his sons Gerald and Doug and grandson Todd. Hank and Mabel faithfully attended Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church in Potter their entire married life and he served as president of the congregation for one term.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years and 10 months, Mabel, a daughter Frances (Gerald) Effa, a son Douglas (Esther) Fischer, and a daughter-in-law Carol Fischer, 3 grandsons, Roy (Wanda) Marceille, Todd (Dawn) Fischer, Rod Marceille, 8 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, a brother Elroy Fischer, and 2 sisters-in-law Irma Fischer and Margaret Fischer. Hank was preceded in death by a son Gerald, a granddaughter Doreen, a god child Donna Fischer, and 16 brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church in Potter. The Rev. Marc Axelrod will officiate. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
