Lula M. Park died peacefully at Sweetbrook Nursing Facility on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 following a brief illness. Born on Oct. 6, 1926 to the late Ernest and Margaret Hollis in Hoosick Falls, NY, she went on to marry the late William Park on Nov. 4, 1944 in East Arlington, VT. He died in 1974. She worked in the war plant in Hoosick Falls, NY during WWII and volunteered in the 1960's for Pee Wee Football and Cub Scouts of America. During this time she was highly active with the child care and Sunday School activities at St. John's Church in Williamstown. She worked as a custodian at Williams College for 29 years until she retired in 1992. At this time, she then volunteered at the local food pantry and worked at the Turner House for Homeless Veterans in Williamstown. She was also involved with the local Auxiliary and was a current member at the time of her death. She enjoyed sitting around a fire outside with her family, sitting at the fireplace during the winter months, reading books and doing word searches. She is survived by her four children; Scott Park and his wife, Kathy of Williamstown, Paula Wolf and her husband, Carl of Williamstown, David Park and his wife, Sarah of Grand Isle, VT, Denny Park and his wife, Bonnie of Nashua, NH. She is also survived by her two brothers, Howard Hollis of Milford, KS and Teddy Hollis of Glens Falls, NY and her sister, Pearl Giton of North Carolina. She leaves eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren whom she adored. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Hollis of North Carolina.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will be celebrated Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested for the St. Patrick's Church Food Pantry through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West St., North Adams, MA.
