HUSBAND DIES AS LAST RITES SAID FOR WIFE
Paul Ackermann, 73, Passes Away This Morning While Funeral of Wife Being Held

As the last funeral rites were being performed over the remains of his wife this morning at the St. Andrew's church in this city, Paul Ackermann, town of Newton pioneer, who has been in failing health for three months, passed away at the family homestead on Route 3. Mourners coming out from the church services for Mrs. Ackermann this morning were told that the husband had passed away just a few minutes before.

Mrs. Ackermann, whose maiden name was Bertha Bauer, had been stricken suddenly last week, while attending her invalid husband and died after only a day's illness.
Pioneer of Newton
Mr. Ackermann was born in the town of Newton, Oct. 20, 1857 and has always made his home in the town. He was married to Bertha Bauer in 1878. One daughter, Mrs. Alois Holsbach, of this city and a son, Joseph, of Route 3, Manitowoc and two brothers, Henry Ackermann of Arizona and Joseph of this county, survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Ackermann will take place on Wednesday morning at 8:30 from the homestead on Route 3 and at nine o'clock from the St. Andrew's Catholic
church, with interment at Calvary cemetery.
