Leslie C. Albrecht was born 11 Jan 1918 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, son of Arthur and Mathilda Nickels Albrecht who resided at 1411 Madison Street, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

He was inducted into service on 12 Jun 1941 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The highest rank he held was Staff Sergeant. with the 17th Tank Battalion, 7th Armored Division. He served in France from 11 Aug 1944 to 26 Sep 1944, in Belgium from 26 Sep 1944 to 30 Sep 1944, in Holland from 20 Sep 1944 to 22 Nov 1944, in Germany from 22 Nov 1944 to 06 Dec 1944 and in Belgium from 17 Dec 1944 to 03 Mar 1945. He had served in the Northern France Campaign, the German Campaign, the Ardennes Campaign and the Central Europe Campaign. He received a Certificate of Merit on 06 Dec 1944 in Blaustern, Germany, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars, The American Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was separated from service with an Honorable Discharge at Fort Knox, Kentucky on 03 Oct 1945.

He returned to Manitowoc, Wisconsin worked and retired from Mirro Aluminum Company and died in Manitowoc on 06 Apr 1984.

Mr. Leslie C. Albrecht, 66, of 1336 S. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Friday evening, April 6, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside services will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post No. 659.

Mr. Albrecht was born Jan. 11, 1918, at Waukesha, Wis., son of the late Arthur and Mathilda Nickels Albrecht. Mr. Albrecht was a veteran of World War II, serving for 4-1/2 years with the United States Army, and had been stationed in the European Theater. He married the former Lorraine Jagodinsky on Oct.26, 1946, at Manitowoc. Mr. Albrecht was employed by Mirro Aluminum Co. for 47 years, retiring in March, 1983.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; two daughters and sons-in-law, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Arnold and a sister, Florence Krumel.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 o’clock to 9 o’clock this Sunday evening and Monday prior to the time of services.
