Verna Alice Branson, 86, of Owensville, Mo. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Frene Valley Healthcare South in Owensville.
Verna was born in Swiss on November 20, 1928, to the late Andrew and Flora (Gruber) Hurst. She was united in marriage on January 10, 1948 to Elmo Branson and they resided in Owensville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Owensville for 64 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmo; granddaughter, Dawn Pohlmann; brothers, Virgil Hurst and Andrew Hurst; sister, Flora Bock; and brother-in-law, Anthony Veltry.
Verna's survivors include her son, Ralph Branson of Owensville; daughters, Sharon Pohlmann of Rhineland, Joyce Scheel and husband, Leland of Owensville and Barb Diebal and husband Don of Swiss; sister, Norma Veltry of Washington; sister-in-law, Rose Hurst of Owensville; and by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens.
