Mrs. Fred Basken, Manitowoc,
died Saturday afternoon at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc,
where she had been a patient for two weeks following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Clement Kern will officiate and burial will be
in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Josephine Romelfanger Nov. 6, 1874, in Sheboygan
and the family moved to Manitowoc in 1890. In 1892 she was
married to Edward Green. He died in 1922. In 1926? she was
married to Fred Basken.
Surviving are her husband; six daughters, Mrs. Reuben Schmitt, Mrs.
Reinhart Fanslau, Mrs. Thomas Innes, and Mrs. Clarence Green of
Manitowoc, Mrs. George Drevalas of Chicago and Mrs. Harry Slack
of Pasadena, Calif.; three sons, Richard Green of Manitowoc, Donald
Green of Antigo and Alfred Green of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs.
Alma Sanderson and Mrs. Mayme Anderson of Sheboygan; 15
grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A son, Milton Green, died
last December.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited
by the Knights of Columbus at 7 p.m. Monday.
