BERNARD BAUER
Mr. Bernard H. (Bud) Bauer, 83 of North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, February 23, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc and 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno. The Mass of Chrstian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Julian C. Resch with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Bauer was born June 15, 1900, in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, Wisconsin, son of the late Nick and Flora Couley Bauer. Mr. Bauer farmed and worked at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company for 46 years, retiring in 1965. He married the former Emma Zipperer on April 29, 1924, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Mr. Bauer was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife, Emma; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannete and Reinard Holschbach of Route 1, Whitelaw and Eunice and Robert Gaedke of New Holstein, Wisconsin; a sister and a brother-in-law, Hazel and Joseph Gates of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren and five great grandsons, other relatives and friends also survived. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, this evening from 4 o’clock to 9 o’clock where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. led by Father Resch.
