Victor M. Bauer, 71, of 5116 Michigan Ave., Manitowoc, died Monday morning, April 4, at Holy family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffmann will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Bauer was born July 9, 1911, at Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Peter and Ida Coutley Bauer. He resided in Manitowoc County all his life and married Elsie Lax Sept. 4, 1935, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Silver Lake. The couple owned and operated a farm in Manitowoc Rapids until their retirement. Mrs. Bauer preceded him in death Oct. 19, 1982.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Jerry Hauch of Manitowoc and Janice and Gary Schmidt of Oostburg; five grandchildren, Jill Jertens, Jody and Renee Hauch and Mark and Jeff Schmidt and a great grandson, Bradley Mertens; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ann Bauer, Mrs. Melonia Bauer and Mrs. Clara Bauer; a brother-in-law, Gordon Tuschl; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Ray Kaufmann and Margaret and Evarist Bast;aa Bast (sic) and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clarence and Gertrude Lax of Manitowoc. Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. by Deacon William Klein.
