Infirimities incident to old age were responsible for the death yesterday
at the family home, 2305 Wollmer street, of Mrs. Katherine Becker,

daughter, Mrs. Mary Kaufman, 1815 Wollmer street, Wednesday morning
with services at St. Paul’s Catholic church at 9:30, the Rev. Jaekel officiating.
Burial will be at Calvary.
Mrs. Becker, who was Katherine Rennon before her marriage, was born in
Germany August 14, 1847 and came to this country with her parents in 1859
at the age of twelve. The family settled in Manitowoc county and upon her
marriage to Frank X. Becker in 1865 she came to Manitowoc to make her
home and has since always resided here. Mr. Becker preceded her in death
nine years ago. Surviving her are four sons, Frank of Two Rivers, Michael
of Brillion, John of this city and George of Thorp, and two daughters, Mrs.
L. W. Griffin of Chicago and Mrs. Mary Kaufman of this city. A sister, Mrs.
Anna Alt of Algoma, thirty-one grand children and seventeen great

One of the treasured memories of Mrs. Becker was a visit to Chicago
during which she heard Abraham Lincoln make an address.
