HIS FALL WAS FATAL
Joe Becker Dies from Effects of Injuries Sustained at the Hospital Yesterday.
DEATH CAME AT 1 O’CLOCK
Skull Was Fractured and He Remained In an Unconscious Condition Until Hour of Death.
Joe Becker, who fell from a scaffold at the Holy Family hospital late yesterday afternoon, died from the effects of the injuries he sustained. He was unconscious when picked up and remained in that condition until the hour of his death. Everything that medical skill could suggest was done to revive him, but without avail, and he breathed his last at ten minutes to one this morning.
The deceased was born in 1871 and has always made this city his home. He was a tinsmith by trade and was employed by E. Teigten & Co. Sober, industrious and willing, he is spoken of in terms of highest praise by his employers. He was married in 1893 to the wife who survives him and they resided at the corner of Washington and 16th streets. He was a conscientious member of the Catholic church, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, of which society he was treasurer; and an efficient worker in the St. Boniface society. The sympathy of the community will be extended to the young wife.
The funeral will be held Friday morning from the Catholic church.
