John Ira Estill Sr., 87, of Bloomington, formerly of 2716 S. State St., died at 4:25 a.m. Sunday at the Bloomington Heritage Manor Convalescent Home.

He was born in Sweetwater, the son of Sylvester and Mathilda Adams Estill and also was a former resident of Athens.

He was a retired employee of the Springfield Electric Co. and a member of the South Side Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Merle L., Lowell S., both of Springfield; and John I. Jr., of Bloomington; one sister, Mrs. Ida Dorgan, of Springfield; one brother, Ray, of Middletown; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were at the Staab Funeral Home.

Burial in Indian Point Cemetery at Athens.
