VETERAN RIVER MAN DIES AT SISTERVILLE HOSPITAL
E.W. Talbott, a lifelong resident of this section and known to rivermen up and down the Ohio, died last night in a Sistersville hospital where he underwent an operation last week. He was 74 years old.
Talbott was wharfmaster on the Ohio River at Sistersville for many years. He was a member of one of the oldest families in this vicinity and is survived by his widow, two daughters, three brothers and two sisters.
Note on Nickname. 'Eb' as in ebb of the tide. Not E.B. Talbot
