Actor. He will be best remembered by TV audiences for playing 'Mike Halliday' in the series "Klondike" (1960 to 1961) and 'Hondo Lane" in the series "Hondo" (1967). Born to German immigrants, he was an athlete during his youth and briefly played within the Brooklyn Dodgers' minor league system, prior to suffering a career-ending injury. He broke into Hollywood with an uncredited part in the film "It Started With a Kiss" (1959), however it would be the small screen which garnered Taeger his most success. A handsome and rugged man, he experienced roles in the TV programs "Bat Masterson" and "Sea Hunt," before being partnered with James Coburn for the series "Klondike." Taeger played a memorable part in a 1964 episode of the classic series "The Twilight Zone" titled "From Agnes- with Love." He retired from the entertainment industry during the 1970s and ran his own firewood company.
