"Death of Mrs. Katharine Jorsch on Thurs., here in Manitowoc. She was the
daughter of Mr. A. Bertler "Her husband, once a fine workman, gave himself
over to drink and in his drunkenness not only neglected to feed his family,
but abused them." The deceased left nine children of which the eldest is 17
and the youngest is still very small."
