John K. Marvel, 58, of rural Stonington, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Meadow Manor, Taylorville.
John was born on October 20, 1956 in Clinton, the son of Maurice Otis and Vera A. (Fulce) Marvel. John was a 1976 graduate of Southern Illinois University Mortuary Science and Funeral Service. He was a farmer, funeral director, avid New York Yankee fan and a staunch democrat.
John is survived by his sister, Nelda Jacoby; nephews, Dan Jacoby and David (Tara) Jacoby; great nieces and nephew, Kaitlynn Jacoby, Isabella Jacoby and Jayden Jacoby and cousin, Elta Cooke.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
