William J. Brey, 70, of 533 S. 32nd St., Manitowoc, died Thursday at the Manitowoc County Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev. Clement P. Kern will officiate and burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Brey was born Dec. 24, 1899, at Kellnersville, son of the late Michael and Augusta Raatz Brey. He married Rose Kleiber May 16, 1920, at Kellnersville. The couple resided at Manitowoc after their marriage. Prior to his retirement in 1963 he was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. Mr. Brey was a member of the Boilermakers Local No. 443 and the Holy Name Society of St. Paul Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, (private); a daughter, (private); four brothers, John, Michael and Quirin of Kellnersville and Edward of Connecticut; five sisters, Mrs. Joseph Stedl of Menchalville, Mrs. John Wolf of Milwaukee, Mrs. Frank Kregel of Sheboygan, Mrs. Ralph Seigworth of Sturgeon Bay and Mrs. Ted Knoblock of Detroit, and 10 grand-children.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 o'clock this Friday afternoon where a Rosary will be recited at 7 o'clock by the Holy Name Society, members of the parish and friends.
