Mrs. Rose C. Brey, 88, formerly of 533 S. 32nd Street, Manitowoc, died Monday evening, March 21, 1988 at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Ronald Reimer with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Brey, the former Rose Catherine Kleiber, was born April 24, 1899 at Brillion, daughter of the late John and Frances Miller Kleiber. She married William J. Brey on May 16, 1920 at Kellnersville. The couple resided in Racine, prior to moving to Manitowoc in 1924. Mrs. Brey was a member of St. Paul Parish Women. Her husband preceded her in death September 10, 1970.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Martha Brey of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ray Shavlik of Green Bay; a daughter-in-law, Helen Brey of St. Louis, Missouri; a brother, Ernest Kleiber of Brillion; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette, a son, William, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 4:30 pm to 9 pm Wednesday. Prayer service will be held at 8 pm Wednesday evening led by Deacon William Klein
