"A celebration of life for Dorcas M. Dahlheim, 86, of Lincoln will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home preceded by visitation 1-3 p.m. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park. The Rev. Bob Rice will officiate.
Dorcas M. Dahlheim went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 13, 2009. She died peacefully surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness.
Dorcas was born on May 23, 1923, at Yankton, S.D. She attended Yankton High School, where she was active in drill team and various choir groups. After graduating in 1942, she moved to Omaha, where she met and married Harold Dahlheim on Aug. 28, 1948.
The couple and their four children moved to Norfolk in 1961. Dorcas resided in Norfolk for several years while raising her family. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing bridge. Dorcas retired from Shopko in 1988. Mrs. Dahlheim resided at Beaver Lake and Crawfordsville, Ind., to be near family before settling in Lincoln in 1996.
She is survived by daughters and spouses, Diane and Dave Nitz of Lincoln, Denise and Dave Hoff of Avilla, Ind.; sons Mike Dahlheim of Dallas and Mark and Kerry Dahlheim of Omaha; grandchildren Dana, Cassidy, Jennifer, Joshua, Jason, Jared, Gretchen, Andrew; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials are in care of the family for future designation. The funeral home is at 6800 S. 14th St."
