Lawyer. Retired Superior Court judge. Member of the pioneer Dockweiler family he was appointed to the bench in 1933 and in 1936 ran against the incumbent judge for the Superior Court and won. At that time he was the second person in the county's history to unseat an incumbent Superior Court jugde. When he retired in 1968, a day before his 70th birthday, he was the senior judge on the court in terms of service. He continued to serve as judge pro tem until 1980 giving him a total of 45 years on the Superior Court bench. He was known as a gentle, impartial and extremely kind person & judge. One of his fellow judicial members said he never knew him to say a harsh word to anybody or about anything.
