Thomas Cox, son of General James Cox and Ann Potts, was the seventh of thirteen siblings. He was born on 8 Jul 1787 and died in his 27th year according to his headstone. He was interred in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Trenton, Mercer, New Jersey. His headstone is positioned on the east wall of the Sunday School, along with that of his mother Ann Borden Potts, who died during the capsizing of the Traveller en route to Philadelphia. Newspaper accounts of her death indicate that she was survived by two daughters and eight sons. Thomas was one of the three children who predeceased her, the other two being William and James.
