Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Pearson was a life-long resident of Bessemer, Alabama and most recently resided at Riverchase Village Assisted Living.
She was born on September 15, 1922 to Priestley T. Armstrong and Lottie Clyde Fike .
Betty was a member of Second Baptist Church in Bessemer where she faithfully served as a childrens Sunday school teacher and choir member.
She was also a member of the Winsome Sunday School class. She pursued her dream of becoming an LPN and worked for Dr. William Terrell and Dr. Robert Cale. Mrs. Pearson is preceded in death by her sweetheart and loving husband of sixty-three years, Billy Joe Pearson; her parents and her brother, Richard Armstrong.
Survived by her daughters, C. Diane McKinnon of Dauphin Island, and Kathy J. (Harry) Parker of Birmingham; granddaughters, Jennifer (Steven) Bowman and Sarah Parker ; great-grandson, Mac Ellis Bowman; sisters-in-law, Ann Armstrong of Huntsville, Doris Ward and Juanita Pearson of Mission, Texas and Lillian Henderson of Brownsville, Texas; and extended loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with a private family burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Bro. Joseph L. Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 15, 2007 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Harry Parker , Steven Bowman, Steve Bowman, Jimmy Myrick, Larry Taylor, Jerry Nicholson, Harold Pierce and John McKinnon; Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Ward, Fred Criswell, Walter Dockery, Joe Kinnaird, members of Masonic Lodge # 930 and the deacons of Second Baptist Church.
The family wishes to thank special caregivers, Sharon Pritchett, Tamikka Jones and Tammy Jones for their love and devotion to Mother, and to Odyssey Hospice for their outstanding care during this difficult time.
Mrs. Pearson was a "loving Mother and Grandmother who adored her granddaughters and great-grandson".
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
