Born May 9, 1932, in Beaverdale, daughter of Arthur and Hilda (Burns) Cook. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Walter E. “Gene” Thomas; two brothers; and two sisters. Survived by children, Deborah, wife of Ronald Meek, Castelian, Tenn.; Gary, married to the former Janet Bokelman, Wenham, Mass.; and Sandra, wife of William Hatten, Malden, Mass. Also surviving are grandchildren, Thomas J. Hatten, Sloane E. Thomas, Taylor M. Thomas and Garrison C. Thomas; and brothers, David, Philadelphia; and Lee, San Antonio, Texas. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Beaverdale Alliance Church, the Rev. Daniel Hammond, officiating. Interment, Dunlo United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family asks contributions to Alzheimer’s Association.
