Bruce H. Birchfield, 62, of La Porte, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.
Bruce was born in La Porte, IN, on October 22, 1952 to Harold and Frances (James) Birchfield.
On October 2, 2010 in La Porte, he married Kimberly Tanner who survives. Also surviving are his beloved children, Rachael Birchfield of Westville, Emily Birchfield of Westville, Katrina Owens of Mishawaka; mother, Frances Birchfield; brother, Jerry (Susan) Birchfield of La Porte; and sister, Tammy (Dale) Sass of La Porte.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Birchfield; father, Harold Birchfield; and mother-in-law, Susan Schultz.
Bruce had been baptized as a child at Pinhook Baptist Church. He worked for Brentwood as the bus driver and formerly worked as a Field Superintendent with Ideal Interiors of South Bend. Bruce loved fishing, working outdoors and baseball. Bruce was a cherished husband, amazing father and had a deep love for his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 PM Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Carl Galloway officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 4 PM until the time of the service on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the funeral home. A cremation committal will take place following the service with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
