Clayton Paul died Sunday, July 16, 1989 of injuries suffered from an accident on Highway 75 four miles south of Holton.
He was born Dec. 27, 1966 at Oskaloosa, the son of Therman and Luella Allen Monroe Shopteese. His adopted parents are Matthew Pilcher, Chicago, Ill. and Sharon Rose Pilcher, Mayetta.
He has lived in the Chicago area most of his short life. He has only been in the Mayetta area for one month. He was a member of Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe.
