Son of Mitchel Perry and Mary (?). Brother of Mary, Lewis, Minnie, and Louisa.
Sometime between 1855 and 1860, he emigrated from Canada with his parents and siblings.
On 29 Sep 1862, at the age of 18, he enlisted in Bombay, New York as a Private in Co. G 142nd NY Inf. On 7 Jun 1865, with an Honorable Discharge, he mustered out with his Co. at Raleigh, NC. He served 2 years 9 months 17 days.
Amos was married to Elmira Mary (Labell) on February 8, 1869. They were blessed with eleven children - five sons, Henry, William, Thomas, George, and Fred I., and six daughters, Rosa, Martha, Ella, Anna A., and two others (names unknown at this time).
He was a farmer and had lived in Bombay, Fort Covington, Dickinson, and finally in Brushton, New York.
