Singer. She was one of the first African Americans to star in musical comedy theater. In the 1920s, she toured vaudeville in a singing and dancing act with her sister. In 1919, she was in "Over the Top" at Harlem's Lafayette Theater, the beginning of her musical comedy career. She also sang with The Fletcher Henderson Orchestra.
