Journalist, novelist, and screenwriter. Novelized the original script of "King Kong".

Son of Mortimer Devillard Lovelace, a native of Canada, and Josephine Wheeler Lovelace. Married Maud Palmer Hart on Thanksgiving Day, 29 Nov 1917, in the Hart family home. She was the author of the Betsy-Tacy series of books for girls, and she based the character of Joe Willard on Delos.

2. Merian Hart, b. 18 Jan 1931, d. 25 Sep 1997; m. Engelbert A. "Bert" Kirchner, Aug 1954; no children. Engelbert was born 16 Sep 1928 and died 15 Apr 1992.
