Nicholas F. Birringer, 73, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening at Manitowoc County Hospital, Manitowoc, after an illness of two months.

Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, the Rev. John Haen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Birringer was born March 20, 1887, in the Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, son of the late Nicholas and Magdalene Engeldinger Birringer. He was educated at St. Ann parochial school and later employed at Milwaukee for several years. He then returned to Manitowoc county where he bought a farm on County Trunk Q. He married Mathilda Nachtwey in 1913 at Pine Grove, Brown County, and they operated the farm in Manitowoc County until his illness two months ago. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Ann parish.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Milton, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph O'Leske of Rubicon, Dodge County, Mrs. William Nook of Milwaukee, Mrs. John Schuh of Clarks Mills, Manitowoc County, and Frances at home; three brothers, Matt of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, Edward of Cato, and Frank of California; a sister, Mrs. John Haws, of Francis Creek and 11 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.

The Rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. by members of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus.
