Elizabeth "Betty" Grenzer, age 74, of Hilbert, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on June 24, 1940 in Chilton, daughter of the late Elmer and Cecilia (Weber) Jensen. She was a graduate of Hilbert High School, class of 1958. On November 25, 1961, she married Kenneth "Ken" Grenzer at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hilbert.
Betty started her career at Chilton Metal Works, the place where she met Ken. She also has worked at Deno's Steakhouse/Schmitz Brothers in Hilbert and the Railway Junction in Forest Junction as a cook. Betty enjoyed traveling, camping, hiking, and biking. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ken; their children: Theron Grenzer, Joel (Michelle) Grenzer, Tonya (Scott) Kratz, Aric (Andrea) Grenzer, Jason (Dawn) Grenzer, Nathan (special friend Wendy) Grenzer, Jennifer (Bruce) Eichmeier, and Natasha (fiance' Christian Proctor) Grenzer; grandchildren: Tyler, Taylor, Karlie (Alex), Jena, Rachel, Katie, Alandra, Addison, Carson, Kendrix, Dominic, McKenna; three brothers: Charles (special friend, Ruth), Eugene (special friend, Stella), and Elmer Jensen; three sisters and six brothers-in-law: Jane (Paul) Thiel, Barbara (Gary) Nennig, Alice (Levant) Purdy, Bob (Mary) Eichmeier, Charles (Marlene) Grenzer, and Robert Suttner ; four sisters-in-law: Mary (Joseph) Schomisch, Barbara (Lon) Schroeder, Joan (Mike) Slominski, and Marguerite (Kurt) Myers; the family dog, Champ; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws: John and Ruth (Schmitz) Grenzer; one sister: Karen Eichmeier, and one sister-in-law: Carol Suttner.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
