Emily Herring Pierce Loviza, 79, of Nashville, TN, died at her home on April 19, 2010 after an extended illness. Visitation was held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 3 - 5 and 6-8 p.m., at the Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home in Nashville.

Services were held on Thursday, April 22 at Lincoya Hills Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service. Interment followed in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Loviza is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Loviza of Nashville; sons, Bill (Ann) of Nashville; Tom (Carol) of Midlothian, VA; Mike (Mary) of Bear, DE: daughter, Alise of Nashville; brother, Clarence Pierce of Vaiden, MS; sister, Carolyn Pierce Boggan of Tupelo, MS; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Loviza, a native of Mississippi, was a longtime resident of Nashville, and a member of Lincoya Hills Baptist Church. She was the past officer of both the Belle Meade Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Stones River Women’s Club. Active pallbearers were Mrs. Loviza’s nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
