Durand -- Fred J. KONECNY, 74, of 2910 Reed Rd., died Tuesday at Pleasant View Hospital at Corunna. He had been ill for the past eight months.
Funeral services are to be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Franklin HAY officiating. Burial is to be in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. The body will rest at Bellows Funeral Home where the Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. KONECNY was born May 6, 1893, in Czechoslovakia and had lived in Durand for the past 50 years. He was married to Antonia GAZAREK on Nov. 11, 1913 in Owosso, and was a member of St. Mary's Church.
He was a farmer and carpenter.
Surviving are: his wife; three sons -- Jerry of Durand, Ben of Ashley and Martin of Corunna; two daughters, Mrs. John E. SEDLAK of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. E.L. BENJAMIN of Clio; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and one sister, Katherine of Czechoslovakia.
