Lillian R. Ross Leis was the wife of George Leis. She was the daughter of Fanny Maria Lathrop Ross and Edmund Gibson Ross, U.S. senator from Kansas and governor of New Mexico Territory. As senator, Edmund Gibson Ross cast the deciding vote that acquitted President Andrew Johnson during his impeachment trial.
