Swana Joelleen Wright, 57, of Kingston, Georgia, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015. Mrs. Wright was born June 17, 1957 in Bartow County, the daughter of the late Joel Martin and Ruby Elwanda (Carver) Cornwell . She was preceded in death by her parents and her step father, Claude Clark.
Mrs. Wright attended Chief Cornerstone Church in Kingston. She loved to sing and be with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her door was always open to any child that needed a place to go.
Surviving is her husband of 37 years, Donnie Wright of Kingston, her daughter and son in law, Leslie and Robert Rachels of Kingston, grandchildren, Robbie Rachels, Patrick Rachels and Garret Rachels and sisters, Joyce Head and her husband Harold of Thomaston, Georgia and Catherine Cornwell of Panama City, Florida, two nephews, Joel Head and his wife Dawn of Winston, Georgia, Jeremy Head and his wife, Michele of Carrollton, Georgia, a niece Angela Collum and her husband Kenneth of Cartersville and many other nieces , nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Silvers and Rev. Corey Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Kingston Cemetery with Rev. Michael Cantrell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Wright, Joe Wright, Tim Wright, Carey Wright, Geoff Cornwell and Jeff Williams.
