Mrs. Joseph Braun, Sr., 84 (above), died Monday afternoon at her home in Francis Creek, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, at 9:30 a.m. Officiating at the services will be Rev. Joseph Rauch. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Braun, the former Anna Schweda, was born in Germany in 1867 and immigrated to this country with her parents at an early age. They settled on a farm in the town of Kossuth. She was married to the late Joseph Braun in 1889. They moved to the Francis Creek residence 60 years ago. Mr. Braun died in 1945. She was a member of the St. Ann's Christian Mothers Society at the St. Ann Church.
Survivors include three sons, Charles of Detroit, Walter at home and Edwin of Route 2, Manitowoc; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Another son, Arthur, preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
