Musician. He was half of the music duo "The Brothers Johnson." A bass player, along with his older brother George (who played the guitar), he acquired experience playing with Bobby Womack and Billy Preston, prior to launching their own career during the mid 1970s. After landing a contract with A&M Records, the pair scored a gold record with "I'll Be Good to You" (1976) and followed this with "Strawberry Letter 23" (1977, also gold status) and "Stomp!" (1980). Johnson became a respected and sought-after musician and contributed to the Michael Jackson albums "Off the Wall" (1979), "Thriller" (1982) and "Dangerous" (1991).
