Motion Picture Director, Screenwriter. He will perhaps be best remembered for directing and penning the film "Ice Castles" (1978). He studied Film at UCLA and began his career in the entertainment field as an assistant to the producer for the film "The Explosive Generation" (1961) which starred William Shatner. Wyre began penning scripts initially for the TV series "The Mod Squad" and distinguished himself, when he received two Academy Award nominations for the short-stories "An Impression of John Steinbeck: Writer" (1969) and "The Numbers Start with the River" (1971). During the 1970s, Wyre directed several notable TV-Movies including "The Entertainer" (1976) which starred Jack Lemmon. He directed the 2010 remake of the film "Ice Castles".
