MCMICHAEL, SARAH S. WATKINS 96, a long-time resident of Birmingham died on September 6, 2011. Sarah is the daughter of the late Judge Roger Snyder and Frankie Miller Snyder. Sarah is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Keith, her daughters Sarah Jane Turner and Elizabeth Ann DiGiorgio (John), daughter-in-law Diane Watkins, grandchildren John Bushong, Rebecca Lee (Ricky), Steven Bushong, Mary Watkins Williams (Grant), George Watkins (Druid), and David Watkins (Robyn) and great-grandchildren Nikki Estes, Brookelyn Bushong, Cassie, Brianna and Logan Lee, Logan, Emily and Olivia Williams, Steven, Duncan and Paxton Watkins, and Andrew and Sarah Watkins. Sarah's son, Roger S. Watkins and husbands Homer George Watkins and Richard McMichael preceded her in death. Sarah was a member of the South Highland Presbyterian Church, was the director of the Brother Bryan Mission for 32 years, and was named Birmingham's Woman of the Year. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
