Parrit was a merchant and a stage coach driver from Burlington, VT to Windsor, VT. He also served in the Revolutionary War; enlisted 1775 and served 4 years, being discharged in 1780. Served in Col. Peabody's Regiment in RI in 1778; enlisted again in 1782 in Haverhill for three years. He lost his right arm at a celebration at Wilmington, VT on the 4th of July 1775.
