Francis "Sonny" Xavier O'Rourke, Jr., 69, of Marysville passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at home with his family.
Mr. O'Rourke was born in Queens, on July 7, 1941, the son of the late Francis X. and Alice V. (McAvoy) O'Rourke, Sr. and raised in Riverhead, NY.
He was retired from at Conestoga Tile, Harrisburg and worked recently for Fisher Auto Parts of Lemoyne.
Sonny coached both Little League and Pop Warner football. He was an All-Star pitcher for several fast pitch softball teams and credited with over 200 wins. Always an avid New York Mets and Giants fan. He loved good music and fast cars.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Virginia "Ginger" (Hills) O'Rourke, they would have celebrated 46 years of marriage in July; five Sons, E. Michael O'Rourke. his companion, Haydee Burgos, of Riverhead, NY, Francis X O'Rourke, III of LasVegas, NV, Patrick O'Rourke of Shirley, NY., Terrence O'Rourke of Riverhead, NY., Kevin O'Rourke, his wife Giudetta of Taos, NM; his adopted Daughter, Cindy Hynds of Riverhead, NY; one brother, Roary O'Rourke; two Sisters, Willa Fry and Sharon Prevost, all of Florida; also five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 in the Michael J. Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, with Deacon James J. Rush officiating.
Visitation will be held from Noon to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
