Actress. She shall be remembered for her participation as a regular panelist on the TV gameshow "I've Got a Secret" (1955 to 1967). Additionally, she will be known to movie audiences for playing 'Mrs. Voorhees', the psychopathic killer in the film "Friday the 13th" (1980) and "Friday the 13th: Part II" (1981). Born Patricia Betsy Hrunek, her father was an industrial chemist, her mother was an executive for Chicago Business College, Betsy was encouraged by her teachers to pursue a career in entertainment, as she participated in school plays. After graduation, she worked as a typist for B&O Railroad and later gained experience as a performer in summer stock productions. Her break in the industry came when she was cast in the short-lived soap opera "Miss Susan." She marked her Broadway debut in the play "The Grand Prize" (1955) and had roles of substance in the films "The Long Gray Line" (1955, which starred Tyrone Power) and "Mister Roberts" (1955). Further pictures include "The Tin Star" (1957) and "The Last Angry Man" (1959). In addition to "I've Got a Secret", TV audiences will remember her for playing 'Virginia Bullock' in the series "Knots Landing" (1989 to 1990). She died from natural causes.
