Chris was a United States Marine Corps helicopter pilot. He was delivering disaster relief supplies to earthquake victims in Nepal, when his craft went down. He was 31 years old.

He graduated from Bishop Carroll High School, in Wichita, Kansas, in 2002. In 2007, he graduated from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He graduated summa cum laude from Missouri S&T with bachelor degrees in aerospace engineering and applied mathematics.

Chris was commissioned with the US Marine Corps on May 28, 2009. He served as UH-1Y pilot with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469.

Preceded in death by grandparents, Ernest and Dolores Norgren and Helen and Leo McBane. Survived by his parents, and sister.
