HYANNIS - Gentile, Debra A., 54, of Hyannis, “An Angel on Earth.”
Debra passed away peacefully at home among her loving family, ending a long life of health problems.
Starting in 1973, she was diagnosed with cancer and was given six months to live, but Deb went on to share her love for life with everyone she met.
Her long medical history was met by every doctor, nurse, and hospice staff with wonder “how this young and happy woman could endure the years of suffering by each new medical problem.”
Deb held a degree in Graphic Design and Photography through the University of Bridgeport, which was attained even with each new medical problem.
She was the loving daughter of Rita (Domato) Gentile and the late Salvatore Gentile. In addition to her mother, Deb is survived by her sister, Cheryl Baldwin and her brother Robert Gentile, along with many nephews, nieces, and “cousins by the dozen.”
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church, 347 South Street, Hyannis, on Friday, June 12, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Deb’s memory may be made to the MSPCA, www.mspca.org.
