LAVINA L. DOERSCH
Lavina L. Doersch, age 97, a resident of Harmony West Assisted Living facility, Manitowoc, passed away on Friday morning, June 17, 2011 at Harmony West.
Lavina was born November 26, 1913 in Osman, Manitowoc County.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lena Vogel Siggelkow. On June 14, 1933 Lavina and Vernon Doersch were married at St. John and St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Cleveland, Wisconsin. The couple was married for 63 years before Vernon preceded her in death on December 4, 1996. They farmed together on the Doersch home farm in
the town of Centerville, Manitowoc County until their retirement and moved to Manitowoc in 1970. Ten years after Vernon's passing, Lavina moved to Harmony West. Lavina was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Manitowoc Senior Center. Lavina loved cooking and baking, decorating cakes, gardening, playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Caroline Doersch, Madison, WI; one daughter and son-in-law: Rosann and Frederick Jacobi, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren: Randy (Jennifer) Doersch, Colorado Springs, CO; Rodney (Robyn) Doersch, Pleasant Prairie, WI; Karla (Mark) DeCramer, Germantown, WI; Russell (Marla) Doersch, Pinckney, MI; Martin (Teri) Jacobi, Madison, WI; Steven Jacobi, Whitefish Bay, WI; Susan (Tim) German, Hartford, WI; Katherine (Matt) Borchardt,
Manitowoc, WI; twenty three great grandchildren, nieces, one nephew along with other relatives and friends surviving.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest and Lena Siggelkow; husband: Vernon Doersch; two sisters: Bernice Schneider and Myrtle Roehl: three brothers-in-law: Harvey Schnieder; Melvin Doersch; Frederick Roehl; one sister-in-law: Ruth Doersch.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Eric Kolonich with a private burial to follow at St. Johannes Cemetery,
Cleveland, Wisconsin. Relatives and friends may call at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00.
