Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 26, 1996, at 11 a.m. at Salem-
Ebenezer Reformed Church, town of Newton. Rev. Neil Riffert will officiate with
burial in Salem-Ebenezer Reformed Cemetery, town of Newton.
Elmira was born December 21, 1908, in the town of Meeme. Her parents were the
late Herman and Ella Mueller Koeser. On July 23, 1932, she married Clarence J.
Scheffler in the town of Schlesig (sic). Together they owned and operated a
dairy farm in the town of Newton for 45 years. Clarence preceded her in death
on June 20, 1978. Elmira was a long time member of Salem-Ebenezer Reformed
Church and the Pine Rivers Hustlers Homemakers Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Rogene (Milton) Behringer, town of Newton; a
daughter-in-law, Geraldine Scheffler, town of Newton; two sisters, her twin
sister, Remilda Mayer, Sheboygan and Leora Rehm, rural Sheboygan Falls; a
sister-in-law, Margaret Scheffler, Marietta, Ga.; also 10 grandchildren; four
step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren;
other relatives and many friends.
Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m.
until the time of services.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, assisted the family with funeral
arrangements.
