In 1904, Anna's daughter was married to Percy C. Harvey. Together, May and Percy had a daughter Alberta Maxine Harvey (1905-1993) in 1905, but a few months later they divorced. According to my grandmother, Alberta, her father Percy was having affairs and treated her mother May badly.
In 1905, it was frowned upon to be a young single mother, so Anna adopted her granddaughter Alberta, because it was acceptable if you were widowed. Together, Anna and May raised Alberta.
Anna's daughter May met Howard Leroy Williams and they were married.
In Jan 1911, Anna and her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter moved to Los Angeles, California.
