Lyle E. Lantz, 87, of Wellsburg R.D. 2, W. Va., formerly of Greene County, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 1993, in Wheeling (W. Va.) Medical Park. He had been in declining health for the past several years.
He was born February 23, 1906, in Brave, a son of Ulyssis and Dora Strawn Lantz.
Mr. Lantz lived his entire life in Greene County, with the exception of the last three years at Wellsburg R.D. 2.
He was affiliated with United Methodist Church of Spraggs.
Mr. Lantz was a member of Loyal Order of Moose 461 of Waynesburg and a life member of B. P. O. Elks 757 of Waynesburg.
He was a member of Infinity Masonic Society 547 F&AM of Penn Hills.
Mr. Lantz was a 32nd-degree Mason of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh.
He worked for Peoples Natural Gas Co. for 17 years before retiring in 1970.
Mr. Lantz was an independent timber buyer for 15 years.
Surviving are several cousins, including Mrs. Ruth Hancher, with whom he made his home.
Mr. Lantz was the last of his immediate family.
