Sheely had an extensive minor league career playing in Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Spokane, Salt Lake City, Walla Walla, Los Angeles and Sacramento. He appeared in 1,234 major league games and retired with 48 home runs and a lifetime .300 batting average.
