Clyde Edward Stockton, 82, passed away on March 18, 2015. Clyde was born on July 3, 1932 in Granby, Missouri to Rollie and Maggie (Scholes) Stockton. He married Ada (Culbertson Painter) on Nov. 12, 1983 in Hale, Missouri.

Clyde served as a pastor for 65 years, most recently at Victory Worship Center in Augusta, Kansas. He was owner and operator of Stockton Memorials for the last 30 years. He was an Assistant Funeral Director for Dunsford Funeral Home for 12 years and served as sexton at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, Kansas for 15 years.

Clyde often enjoyed sharing laughter with family, friends and strangers alike. He was a prankster and loved telling jokes and sharing stories. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He devoted his life to church and preaching the word of God. He was a consummate advocate of people in need and helped in any way he could. He proudly watched and cheered his grandkids during the seasonal area sports and was a constant presence behind the home team.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Ada of Augusta, Kansas; Sons, Steve and Jo Hanna Stockton of Cedar Hill, Texas, Ed and Teresa Stockton of Austin, Texas, Jeff and Tamy Stockton of Douglas, KS, Dave Stockton of Leon KS, Ronnie Painter, Jr. of Hale, MO, Phillip and Tammy Painter of Andover, KS, and Danny and Jennifer Painter of Augusta, KS; Daughters, Jeanette and Jim Frock of DeWitt, MO and Rebecca and Larry Nichols of Augusta, KS; Twenty-two grandchildren, Lisa, Laura, Stephanie, Rochelle, Samuel, Aaron, Paul, TJ, Karmen, Laura, Dylan, Jessica, Jimmy, Randy, Chelsie, Camden, Averie, Presley, Savanna, Korbin, Emma and Harrison; Thirty Great-grandchildren.

Clyde was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, Sister and Brother-in-Law, Great grandson, Ryan Mason and his first wife, Patricia (Rierson) Stockton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Victory Worship Center, at 1924 Dearborn in Augusta, KS. Graveside service following at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, KS. Memorial contributions in honor of Clyde can be made to the Victory Worship Center left in care of the Funeral Home.
