Major League Baseball Player. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound right-hander made his big-league debut with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1948, going 0-1 in 10 relief appearances. He was sold to the St. Louis Browns on May 4, 1949 and had a 4-11 record, a 5.06 earned run average and six complete games for them. Boston purchased his contract on December 1, 1949, and he went 4-2 for the Red Sox before going back to the Cardinals before the end of the 1950 season. He spent the next five seasons in the minors before one more appearance in the majors with the Chicago White Sox in 1955. His career totals were 9-14 with a 5.37 ERA and eight complete games in 18 starts. He was 6-4 in relief. His best minor-league season came in 1947 with Houston of the Texas League when he was 21-10 with a 2.45 ERA for 241 innings.
